DEATH ON CONTACT may result if 1.003 DISP personnel fail to observe safety precautions. 1.004 DISP Ambient temperature: 21degC - 25degC. 1.004 DISP Relative humidity: less than 80%. 1.004 DISP Allow the UUT 30 min. to stabilize. 1.005 HEAD CALIBRATION ACCESS PROCEDURE 1.006 DISP Disconnect the test leads and the battery eliminator 1.006 DISP if attached. Open the battery compartment, and 1.006 DISP disconnect the battery. Remove the three phillips-head 1.006 DISP screws from the bottom of the case. Turn the instrument 1.006 DISP face-up, and grasp the top cover at both sides of the 1.006 DISP input connectors. Then, pull the top cover from the UUT. 1.007 DISP NOTE: The top AC shield should remain installed on the 1.007 DISP instrument while the calibration adjustments are being 1.007 DISP performed. The positions of the trimpots and trimcaps 1.007 DISP are marked on the top AC shield along with a table 1.007 DISP summarizing the calibration procedures. 1.008 DISP The performance of the 8060A AC functions is affected 1.008 DISP by the capacitance between the main PCB and the bottom 1.008 DISP AC shield, which is dependent on the distance between 1.008 DISP them. The distance may vary, depending on whether the 1.008 DISP top cover is installed. To minimize performance 1.008 DISP variations, press down on the AC shield to simulate top 1.008 DISP cover installation while you perform the AC calibration. 1.009 DISP Re-connect the battery to the UUT battery jacks and 1.009 DISP turn the UUT power switch ON. 1.010 HEAD DC VOLTAGE CALIBRATION 1.011 PIC 51_V8060 1.012 DISP Turn R6 fully clockwise (CW). 1.012 DISP Turn R5 fully counterclockwise (CCW). 1.013 RNG 2V 1.014 5100 1.9V S 2W 1.015 DISP Adj R5 (COARSE) for a reading between 1.9010 and 1.9025. 1.016 DISP Adj R6 (FINE) for a UUT reading of 1.9000+/-0.0001V. 1.017 5100 * S 1.018 RNG 200mV 1.019 5100 190mV S 2W 1.020 DISP Adjust R8 for a reading of 190.00+/-0.01mV. 1.021 5100 * S 1.022 HEAD AC VOLTAGE CALIBRATION 1.023 DISP Turn R18 fully clockwise (CW). 1.023 DISP Turn R15 fully counterclockwise (CCW). 1.024 RNG 200mV AC 1.025 5100 100mV 200H S 2W 1.026 DISP Adj R15 (COARSE) to read between 100.40 and 100.95. 1.027 DISP Adj R18 (FINE) to read 100.00+/-0.05mV. 1.028 5100 * S 1.029 RNG 200V AC 1.030 5100 100V 10kH S 2W 1.031 DISP Adjust C3 for a reading of 100.00+/-0.05V. 1.032 5100 * S 1.033 RNG 2V AC 1.034 5100 1V 10kH S 2W 1.035 DISP Adjust C7 for a reading of 1.0000+/-0.0015V. 1.036 5100 * S 1.037 RNG 200V AC 1.038 5100 100V 10kH S 2W 1.039 MEMI Enter UUT reading in volts: 1.040 MATH MEM1 = MEM - 100 1.041 JMPZ 1.043 0.05U 1.042 JMP 1.031 1.043 5100 * S 1.044 RNG 20V AC 1.045 5100 10V 10kH S 2W 1.046 DISP Adjust C8 for a reading of 10.000+/-0.01V. 1.047 5100 * S 1.048 DISP Disconnect the 5100B from the UUT. 1.049 HEAD FREQUENCY COUNTER CALIBRATION 1.050 PIC 51_F8060 1.051 RNG 200mV AC 1.052 DISP Select the HZ function. 1.053 5191 100kH 50mV -D SI S 1.054 DISP Adjust R9 for a stable reading between 99.95 and 100.05. 1.055 5191 100kH 45mV -D SI S 1.056 DISP If the signal level is no longer sufficient to obtain 1.056 DISP the required reading of 100.00kHz, leave R9 at the most 1.056 DISP stable and accurate setting. 1.057 END
